Unfortunately I can't help you here because I know zilch about Octane, lest about how to set up a "wet" look there.

If you look at the FireFly node setup you'll notice that the area to be wet is defined by a mask, while the wet look is achieved by a couple of other nodes. So if you want to make the KV wet in Octane it might make sense to use the mask map, and replace the "wet" nodes by something that works in Octane.

You need to differ between Master dials in the BODY and individual dials in the body parts.

Let's take the example of the "Toes Spread" morph:

- In the BODY (SHAPE:Leg-Foot:Toes Spread) Master dial you can set a general "Toes Spread" value which is always applied to both feet alike as sort of "shape" for the toes. This becomes part of your character's "personality", so to say.

- However you also have separate dials (actually for the same morph) in the BODY (EASY POSING:LEGS-FEET:Toes Spread R/L)i AND again n each individual toe actor.
This allows you to adjust the toes pose to what you need while leaving the overall "Shape" settings intact.

EXAMPLE:

You create a character that shall have spaced (or less spaced) toes. You need this because the prototype of your character looks like this, so it makes sense to make this a permanent shape.
---> So you use the dial in the BODY (SHAPE:Leg-Foot:Toes Spread)!

But when you need a foot pose (e.g. like when jumping) humans automatically spread their toes in order to get more "grip" on the ground.
---> That's what the dials in the BODY (EASY POSING:LEGS-FEET:Toes Spread {R/L}) are for. They are considered part of a pose and will get reset by the "Zero" pose (while retaining the "Shape" value) each time you zero rotations (provided you use SASHA's "Zero" pose of course).

Once you've got the knack of how it works you'll find this feature very convenient.[cool]

On the other hand, while I looked at it again right now I see that it's probably a bit over complicated (you can control the "toes spread" from Body, r/l foot AND r/l toes. That's overkill.
I'll fix that in SR1!

This looks much like if some morph injections didn't succeed, or as if a joint centre accidentally got dislocated.

Unfortunately I don't have the Maddalena character so I can't say if there's something wrong in the files.
Is this the only area affected? The seam between hip and right thigh?

Also unfortunately you obviously can't just send me the Maddalena pz2 file because that would infringe copyright.
Any ideas? (PM me )

Maybe a pose that you applied had some odd parameters in it? I had that with some freebie poses which dislocated joint centres...

The socks:

Socks follow the leg/foot shape very tightly, so it's important that you "Copy Joint Centres From..." in Poser's "Figure" menu because SASHA's feet are rigged differently than standard V4. I used that on quite a lot of socks and it worked well.

However you need at least PP2014 to have that function available.
If you don't have, try the "350 S-16 Joint Centres" tool from "Karina's Tool Box / Tools".
This should already fix most of the issues.
Use the Morph Brush for remaining pokethroughs.

About the feet: I already wondered if anybody would ever notice, because I put a lot of extra work into that.
Call me a foot fetishist if you like, but in my opinion no figure will stand up without realistic and cute looking feet (pun intended...)

If I look at the "feet" of other figures - good Lord!!

Allright, about time I spend some time here too...
Sorry for the late reply, but I'm still after the "hand pose" bug.

Now, to the fitting of socks first:

To begin with, remember that most of SASHA's feet morphs have no equivalent in any commercial set of socks, thus if you need socks (and shoes), it is a good idea to have all of these special shapes zeroed.

Of course you could copy the feet morphs into the socks, but to what avail?
If the feet are inside socks or closed shoes no one will notice a slight shape difference.
And that's always the first and simple solution that I use - turning feet and toes invisible. (1)

Next thing is that SASHA's feet do have a different rig than V4.
This was unavoidable in order to get a better feet bending, looking less "clumpy".
To transfer this into socks (and shoes for that matter), you need to also transfer the weight maps into the socks/shoes. This can be done with the Poser menu command "Copy Joint Zones From..." (2)
Typically this should solve most of your problems. (3)

And finally there's that particular dial "Foot Bend Tweak ON/OFF" in the "Special SASHA Controls" group in the BODY actor.
This dial basically simulates the extra foot bones which are missing in V4.
It uses the new (to PP2014) function of "Animatable Joint Centres".

A full explanation would be tl;dr here, so just watch how the foot bends (especially far down) with and without that dial set!
I (shame on me) didn't try yet if or how this could be transferred into socks/shoes yet.
So if in doubt, simply turn that option OFF.


Sorry for this lengthy epistle, but it's how it always is:

• The more complex things (like a smartphone, or a 3D figure) get, the more complex it becomes to use them. That's the price for progress...

• (1) there's a more sophisticated approach to this: in order to keep them visible (and poseable) in the preview, go to the "properties" tab of the feet and toes and uncheck "visible in camera", "visible in raytracing" & "cast shadows". Like this, they won't appear in your render, nor will pokethroughs cast unwanted shadows.
• (2) remember the manual where I said to be careful with this option when it comes to pants because of the hip/crotch area?
  For socks and shoes this doesn't apply (except they go all the way up to the crotch)
• (3) Because the Poser function still leaves a lot to be desired, the copied weight maps are a bit bumpy at times.
  If you know your way about editing weight maps, open the joint editor and give the weight maps a smooth-over.
