I've been working in quite a few characters based on SASHA, I'm loving her.

However, when SR1 comes out (and possible other SR), do you think there can be a way to "upgrade" exsisting characters? I would hate having to re-create the ones I already have (plenty of custom morphs, magnets and such in those).

Thank you for taking the time to review this. I figured there would not be a simple solution. The more I play with SASHA the more I see how much work you've put into her.

I do have D3D Poser File Editor, and I'm comfortable (though I'm not an expert) editing CR2 files.

I suspect this is why I was having trouble with the Veranil top I posted about in a different thread. But now I'm curious to learn more about the kind of vertex errors that happen with Copy Morphs From. If you happen to know of a forum or other resource where this topic is discussed further, would you mind sharing the link? I didn't find much through a Google search.

As for transferring an S-16 1.0 character to the upcoming S-16 2.0, I've had to do this so many times (as I tried out various "bending fixes" and then WM versions of V4, before settling on the awesome S-16). And what I've found works best for me is to write down all the Body Morphs I used and the values, and to then dial them in manually on the new figure. Saving and applying morph channel data via the Pose library always seemed to create more problems than it solved.

But I don't use that many Body Morphs, so it's not a big deal to copy those down. What's a much bigger deal is the Head Morphs, which I tend to use a ton of (and not always from the same packages I might want to use later, which causes problems if I save the Head Morphs via the Face library). But just b/c I might've used too many morphs to write them all down, I do save character's Head Morphs as a Face preset.

HOWEVER, here's the solution I'd prefer: a Python "Print Info" script that would list all the Body and Head Morphs that are dialed in, with their values. Transferring characters manually is probably the best way to avoid weird glitches, and having a "Print Info" list to draw on would be a big help. Surely such a script already exists and I just haven't found it yet?

If it's only about copying dial values you could use a rather simple method which I posted somewhere, sometimes (can't find it again right now...):

• Select the BODY of your root figure, then press [CTRL]-c
  (I think the MAC equivalent of [CTRL]- is [OPT]-)
• Now select the BODY of your target figure and press [CTRL]-v
• Repeat this procedure with the head actor.

Be aware that this might result in value duplication on unilateral morphs which have a cardinal control dial!

What I actually want is a "print info" script that will list all the parameters in the selected item that have values other than 0. I want to be able to copy and paste that info into a notebook I keep that has stats on all my characters, so that I don't have to rely on potentially problematic methods like copy/paste or PZ2 or FC2 files.

Here's what I ended up doing for the character I was working on yesterday: I saved all her morph channel info in a PZ2 file, which I then opened with BBEdit and used some creative "find and replace" moves to whittle it down to a list that starts like this:

I left the "k" in there to make sure I didn't mess with any - marks before the value, but that also made it very easy to spot the values I needed to enter for each parameter on the "fresh" figure.

Whenever I do stuff like this, I put the text in a Stickies note that "floats" above other apps, so it remains visible while I'm in Poser entering the values. That makes the process very quick, and FAR less error-prone than the other ways I've tried. I'm sure Windows has something similar to Stickies.

If I really only need to copy parameter values from one item to another, or to mirror a pose, I use Netherworks' Pose Writer, which now comes with Poser. I started using it thanks to your recommendation in the Sasha-16 manual!
