I found the Technikmuseum in Google Earth.
I guess some people there might get confused quite a bit when they see that plane in the middle of the town
Looks like a bloody interesting place. Maybe someday I can afford a trip to Berlin...

That Anhaiter Bahnhof model is impressive. Wonder how long it took them to build it.
Did it really have no roof or was it omitted in the model so people can have a look inside?

B.t.w. I also found Anhalter Bahnhof in Google maps. Looks like only the entrance porch is left, and the "Technikmuseum" is right next to the former tracks which led to the station.

Are the two engine sheds with turntables southwest of it also part of the museum? Probably they were part of a marshalling yard, or storage sidings of Anhalter Bahnhof.
If you go a few hundred metres further south you can still see traces of the tracks fanning out, esp in the "Yorckbrücken". Must have been a huge area back then.

Thank you for this interesting trip, although for me it was only in Google Earth.

In fact I spent the whole evening reading and exploring. A thrilling history of this place!

Your photos are excellent as always. Indeed at a first glance at the photo of the "Humbold Forum" my thought was "Albert Speer Style"!
Well, what worked then to impress people probably still seems to work today...

Your link also made me read about the "Germania" plans of Speer, and that's with I spent several hours of the evening.
IMO it was simply gross - they planned to raze half of Berlin to the ground for their plans - even before the war!
Well, the war then took care of the demolishing...

However it reminded me of Kiev.
When the Germans conquered the city the partisans blew up a large part of Boulevard Kreschatik, killing several hundreds of German soldiersd who were on a victory parade. The rest of the demolishing in Kiev happened in the fighting to reconquer Kiev, in 1944.

Anyway, after the war most of Kiev's downtown was just a huge heap of rubble.

Stalin rebuilt Kiev after the war, in the notorious style of his era (which you can see if you go to Berlins's "Stalin Alley", formerly "Frankfurter Strasse (?)".

B. Kreschatik, the Majdan and the houses alongside those are a very good example of this construction style!
It is said that many German POW's were employed to build the new buildings, and it's controversially discussed whether it was right.

But as my grandfathert said (who went from Stalingrad to Bucharest):
"Why have pity on them? We didn't invite them to come here.
We didn't tell them to kill our people and destroy our homes!
So what is served gets it's reward. They got theirs, and they shouldn't complain.
They have lost any right to do so.!

Yes you may call my grandfather "blunt". But I think he's right.
I only hope these times won't happen again.

Ah yes, I remember SFB... The evil voice of the enemy!
It could be heard clear and loud on the Brocken mountain (as well as Radio Free Europe, AFN, BFBS, Deutschlandfunk, and many more). Though my favourite station was BFBS...
I still remember a joke broadcasted back then:

During a training course the Sergeant Major has given some really stupid and obviously wrong explanations on a rather simple matter and keeps insisting that he is right.
A Corporal raises his hand for a question:
"Excuse me Sir, but *for you as an outsider*: What do you think about human intelligence?"

Thank you for the explanations of what's in the photo!

I remember the Funkturm from a bus tour in which I took part shortly after the Germany's "reunification", and after restrictions for "Soviet" army personnel were handled less strict and allowed visits to (western) Berlin.
It reminded me of "Tour Eiffel" in Paris, with the lower part beneath the ground...

I still strongly remember the stark contrast between the two city parts.
In fact in the "eastern" part much looked still as if the war had just ended (well, less the debris at least ).

Though I already had guessed before that the "socialist" system isn't a real winner, here I saw it with my own eyes.

It was one of the reasons why I quit service in the "CA" soon after the retreat from Germany.

Well let's count two and two together and analyze this picture:

The scene is the backstreet of your "Stacked Houses" which you created years ago.
It was an add-on for a British Rail station. Thus the "Railway Red" backyard doors.

Would this be somewhere in Russia the doors would most prabably be coloured light blue which was the ever present colour everywhere, and still is.
(There still must be a store holding billions of hectolitres of this colour somewhere.
I suspect it's somewhere in the vast Uboat shelter in Balaklava https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balaklava, and it's the reason why Russia needed the Crimea back - the paint was becoming short in supply.)

So your scene is probably in England. Let's say - Manchester.

The KGB (look at the tinted windows of the Volga!) probably wants to recover some Russian artwork (maybe stolen by the Germans during WWII and after the war "secured" by a British Army member?).

The son of that soldier became an "entrepreneur", dealing with "services" and "goods". So the ladies in the picture are probably two of his employees sent up to the meeting to show the "honorable businessmen in a red car whose origin is none of your business, sweethearts!" that the work of art is indeed genuine.

The transaction will then be completed by using a black valise with bundles of printed paper in it for our "entrepreneur", and a parcel marked as "diplomatic luggage" sent from the Soviet Embassy in London, destined for Moscow.

Though I'm no fan of Rammstein (aren't they popular among nazis?) I actually had to laugh when the fire truck "mowed" down the alley trees.

No, I didn't notice the IFA base - OTOH it was the ever-present truck in the GDR; it was used by civil transport as well as by the army.
But the model used in the video is a pretty generous "interpretation" of the rather modest W50.

No idea either why the nazis like bands like Rammstein - perhaps they are attracted by that growling, barking singing style?
Some ten years ago it was nigh impossible to watch Youtube videos about army equipment (esp. tanks) without a soundtrack of one of those "bands" barking at you and blowing your ears off.

Can't tell whether "Mein Land" is for or agianst something, because while my German is sufficient to decypher written articles and simple conversations, it certainly doesn't suffice to "listen" what they are singing about...
Of course I could look up the lyrics, and even translate them.
But then again - not exactly my taste in music.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a shower too? The smell coming from them is always visible in the video, like white smoke...
