New Years' dinner in this house

Have a bad cold, couldn't do any shopping. Writing forum posts is not easy either.

The posters on the wall : girl in red, Yoko Tsuno. The twins are Annemieke and Rozemieke from the "Jommeke" comics. Though here depicted as more adult girls instead of the about 12-year olds in the series. Both drawings are part of a series of ex-libris by Jan Bosschaert with more female comics "celebrities" (Bianca Castafiore, M'oiselle Jeanne ...).

Jef Neys, original author of "jommeke" - intended for children - almost got a heart attack when he first saw this painting.

Before I keel over (that cold...)

Here is my own render of M'oiselle Jeanne (Miss Janny) from the Gaston Lagaffe comics. Though her looks change over time in general she remains a pretty, petite, well-rounded woman with long red hair (usually bound in a tail) ... and a long pointy nose.
With fitting decor for a secretary.

Author Franquin made several undressed drawings of her, though never in the comics.

Hey, i'm surprised of all these french references ! didn't know that french culture was so deeply expanded in the east europe. Even if i already knew that our culture went through our borders far in the east for some centuries. But when i see food labels translated in french (OMG even our national "purée Mousline" !) and that references to Gaston Lagaffe and mademoiselle Jeanne ... i'm speechless !

French language, not French.

The food labels are Belgian in 2 of 3 national languages. German is "forgotten" as usual.

Gaston Lagaffe is Belgian too as are many famous comics.

But what do you want? I live alone, and most of the month my menu plan doesn't look much different either...

I just googled a bit after Jan Bosschaert, and then after "Jommeke".
Jan Bosschaert is quite an unusual artist with a wide variety in his work. Some of them make me wonder how he got away with them regarding copyright...[rolling_eyes]
And I surely admit that his interpretation of Annemieke and Rozemieke is far more appealing to me than the originals...

Haha! M'lle Jeanne - who could forget her and her "Ôoohh M. Gasto-o-o-on!" praises for each of his "gaffes"?
I never saw that last picture of her - Looks like legit A. Franquin (and probably it's a present for Gaston - and another futile attempt at gaining his attention. Poor girl...

But then, still better than a similar picture of "Le Rossigniol Milanais" ("Branle-bas de combat! Elle va chanter!"),
or even M. de Mesmaeker...
"Nou moe ?!?"

it's actually a lot more French influence here than you think.
The French had a large impact on Russian literature, theatre, even ballet: (think "Bolshoi"). So much was inspired by French.

Well, tbh, there was a little naughty episode when a Corsican Colonel wanted to live in Moscow with all his friends, but that was quickly taken care of...

But unaffected from that the French influence persisted for centuries (from 1700-ish until the November Revolution actually), and many is owed to French influence, like in architecture e.g.in Kiev, and in general development like in Odessa which became great under it's first Governor "le Duc de Richelieu".

Général de Gaulle was the first western statesman to visit Kiev during the cold war. One of his speeches is still well remembered:
"Je connais beaucoup de cités qui ont des parcs. Mais Kiev est la première cité que j'ai visité qui est située *dans* un parc".

There's a reason why many Russians (and Ukrainians) still feel very "Francophile" today.

Et enfin - moi-même: mon Francais est "un peu rouillé" (sauf utilizer une terme plus directe), mais je prefère la culture Francaise sur la "culture" Américaine (si ca existe), tous les jours.

Peut-être c'est la raison pourquoi je connais plus des "comics" francophone que des autres.

Elle est três "sexy", et avec les morphs de SASHA, sa physiognômie pourrait être reconstruit sans effort. On verra!

Qui à besoin des salopettes avec une fille comme ca???

I didn't find many salopettes or dungarees for V4, some with skirts instead of pants etc ...

Sam drives a Porsche 356 Speedster :

This model has 3 disadvantages : it's from DAZ, it's very old and not up-to-2018 standards being more edgy than rounded and it's (still) very expensive.
The car is always red in the pictures I found (she wears clothing with red accents too) but no numberplate so I used my own correct 52 cm Europlate (from an unreleased freebie set) The "O' stands for antique vehicle (with restricted use).

All this with an 'ordinary' V4, it's up to you to turn Sasha into Sam.

Well, we do send food aid to poor, third-world countries. Some of it may have ended up in your kitchen.

But what do you want? I live alone, and most of the month my menu plan doesn't look much different either...

I mostly eat at work where we have a restaurant (Sodexo but nevertheless...) , so my menu does usually look somewhat better. However that also means I don't store much food at home, so when I'm not able to shop you get this kind of shortages.

Of course in an emergency we always have the frituur - friterie. But they were closed too.

I still have to empty that bottle of Martini though. It was meant for New Year but since I took some medication for that cold combining those meds with alcohol would not have been clever.

Thank you for the links - some might be useful indeed. But I still think it would need some more kit bashing to get a similar result for the coverall.

The hair might be easier though: I think a modified "Nerissa Hair" might do:

(though it's a bitch to render - takes hours on end...)

The Porsche (which I don't have, so just guessing from the pictures) could be improved by converting the figure to a prop, split it into it's parts and applying SnarlyGribbly's subdivision Python script. That should give us decent results.

In the end you only have to reassemble the various single parts into a (like I call it) "FigureProp" to get everything working.

My BMP-1 and my AK-74 were made in a similar way:

NOTICE:
These are all props!
There's one base Prop (hull, body) with all other parts parented to them and locked into place.
Much more easy to pose and operate than a clumsy figure, which is why I prefer this setup.

... and another character, Priya. Notice those 2 "dents" in the abdomen part ? Something is not quite right there, as I noticed before.

For those more interested in cars : it's a VAZ 2107 from the Ukranian Militia, their former police force disbanded in 2015.

This one is called Paige. Do I see a resemblance to France Gall or is that just my imagination ?

Thank you for the renders my friend, and for bringing KlausDBG's great characters to our attention again!
I still owe him a thank you for all the great work he did, but I'm strangely lazy lately when it comes to 3D stuff (Winter depression??)
Even my SASHA-SR1 isn't advancing as I planned...

To solve your memory problem I'd advise "partial renders" which are the combined in postwork. I did these a couple of times back in the old P7 times when I had scenes with almost ten V4/M4 figures in it, and with good planning it worked out quite well.

Talking about "France Gall":
Not really sure about that. But when I watched her music video "Ella" I just thought "WOW!" (I still had some of her photos in mind when she was younger"!)
She definatly grew more attractive when she got older!

"Ella" is still one of my favourite songs.
"Sasha, elle l'a, Sasha, elle l'a...

I have managed to render the 12 together, but at a price. With Superfly I only got a black image, whatever I did. So I modified everything to be able to render in Firefly.
I used only 1 skin texture, each with a different tone. To keep the characters I do not change their face and only accentuate a few features of their body.
The file is already at 885 MB, so I did not insert anything useless such as clothing.

Class reunion, 5 years later. (they are all 18+ now ).

Still a WIP.
